House Projects of 2019

While my dad was visiting for Christmas 2018, we were grateful for his expertise and work to build a porch on our home.  We were amazed by his skill in creating a curved porch and are forever grateful to him, he is always willing to help each of his 7 children with whatever they need, especially home improvement projects.

After searching online and not being able to find low profile chairs I wanted for our deck, Ben took on the task of building them himself and they turned out to be perfect for the space.  We painted them a deep green... I am in love! With the chairs... and Ben, of course!

Ben has become quite a wood worker this year, he build an outdoor dining table and bench for our backyard deck. No better way to get exactly what you want, than to build it yourself.  We love eating some our meals outside, especially since our yard looks fantastic these days.

Ben installed a new fence in our yard, and although he is pictured here staining it, I was the one to stain most of it. :)

After my dad installing canister lighting in our kitchen in 2015, we finally got around to finishing the ceiling and actually hired someone out for this dirty and tedious job.

Finn and Fox got bunk beds!!!
I love how ocd/organized Ben can be! We spent days organizing and purging our garage and shed together.

Randomness

Found on this sign on Finn and Fox's door. I guess this is what life is like with a 1st grader!

Sister Morgan gave the kids this Noah Ark display.

Daddy found a poisonous snake in our backyard!

Nana came to visit and help watch the kids while I went to England and she brought the kids this Mickey Mouse for a pumpkin.

Finn's hair for CRAZY HAIR DAY at school.

Fox practicing riding a two wheeler, he currently rides a balance bike.

Ben took some of his old young men out for lunch. These guys are in college now, it's crazy!

BASEBALL!

Ben, and his brother, Marshall, went to the World Series in Houston, to watch the Astros play against the San Francisco Giants. Giants won but it was still a great game and they got to sit 3rd row for most of the game!

Ben met the "Save the Beers" guy while at the game. He became insta-famous for not dropping his beers when a ball came his way. He let it hit his stomach instead.

Afterwards Ben tried to track down our nephew, Dallin at his apartment in Houston, where he is serving as a missionary. He wasn't home, so he snuck in through the window and left them some Astros gear and treats!

We enrolled the boys in little league this year! Finn was on the Cubs and played machine pitch baseball. Fox was on the Angels and played t-ball. They both improved tremendously over the course of the season and Finn's team even made it to the playoffs. They ended up losing the Championship game but it was impressive that they made it that far!
