Sweden at six months

Milestones
recording all the firsts
  • Sweden is growing up so quickly and is already sitting up pretty well on her own.
  • Sweden rolls so much that it takes her pretty far. One minute she'll be on the blanket I laid her on and the next minute she'll be halfway under the couch across the room.
  • She does push ups and planks regularly... looks like she's trying to work off those chubby rolls already...No! I love those rolls. She is beginning to move backwards when she gets up on all fours and looks like it will be soon for her to figure out how to crawl.
  • Sweden celebrated her first Halloween! She dressed up as Owlette from PJ Masks. Her brothers were Catboy and Gekko... they made the cutest trio!
  • Sweden has begun sleeping in the crib rather than the hammock or mom and dads bed. It's not an easy adjustment but she has slept through the night in her own room and hopefully will make that a habit.
  • She got a pink Disney Princess walker and she loves it! It lights up and has fun toys attached to it. Soon after getting it she learned how to move backwards in it, even though her little toes barely reach the ground she's figuring it out.
  • Sweden got her ears pierced! We wanted to pierce them before she could grab and pull at them. Luckily she doesn't even notice they are there. She definitely didn't like getting them pierced but Dr. Garza let her have some licks of a lollipop afterwards and that cheered her right up.
  • Sweden is eating solid foods! At about 5 1/2 months she tried quinoa cereal for the first time. She seemed to like it. Along with the cereal she has had carrots, avocado, butternut squash, sweet potato and green beans. She is a good little eater.

Favorite Things
  • Sweden loves to laugh and seems to have a great sense of humor. She laughs at her brothers taking turns stepping over her. She laughs at Finn's jokes (which we all know are not funny and make no sense!), she laughs at peekaboo and tickles too.

Not so Favorite Things
  • When her toy is out of reach and she gets on all fours and tries to get it but can't or ends up going backwards rather than forward.
  • Teething. She seems a bit more fussy lately and wants to gnaw on everything.

Dr. Garza, Sweden's pediatrician peirced her ears. She was not happy about it but we gave her a lollipop afterwards and it quickly cheered her up.
