Colplay Concert in Paris

My Xloto
Stade France
September 2, 2012

We have been anticipating this concert since Valentines Day 2012 when Ben surprised me with the tickets.  We made sure we arrived at Stade France early enough to reserve our spot standing right up against the stage!  Perfect view of Coldplay and the cameras had a perfect view of us.  The concert was filmed and we will be sure to buy the video to see if we made the cut.

Each concert goer receives two wrist bands and all the wrist bands light up at the same time at certain times during the concert.  It created so much energy in the stadium when they would light up and everyone would pound their fists into the air to the beat of the music.  Paper butterflies filled the stadium, beach balls fell into the crowd, the lights and special effects awed us as we rocked out to our favorite songs-Coldplay puts on an AMAZING concert. Is it possible that this concert was even better than the last concert we saw in Monterrey Mexico? Yes, indeed.

In the middle of the concert Ben and I looked at each other and asked--"is this heaven!?" Haha! I'm not kidding--we did not want this concert to end.

"Look at the Stars, Look how they Shine for You...
and they were all Yellow..."

Rhianna surprised the audience by showing up to sing her duet with Chris Martin...

This stands for "Stand up to Cancer." Colplay sang "Paradise" to be filmed for this charity group.  My thoughts were turned to those I know who have died or survived their fight with cancer.
This song was a sweet tribute.

After the concert, like sardines we filed out of the stadium with the crowd and headed to the metro to catch the last train home.  After a tremendously long wait in line, we finally grabbed our seats on the train, where we rested our feet from jumping around, and admired all of our photos and videos from the concert.  Engulfed in our camera, we missed our stop where we would catch a connecting train! Oops. So we hopped off at the next stop only to find out that the trains were no longer running.  We decided we could walk the few miles to our flat... at midnight, in a foreign land. Dumb? Brave? Anyway, we followed the road along the water home and ended up walking inside of a tunnel that seemed to go on forever! There were inlets along the tunnel where homeless people could easily make themselves at home-once that thought crossed our minds, I don't think we've ever run faster.  Usain Bolt fast. Maybe we should have grabbed a taxi!?  We sprinted the whole length of the tunnel and once through breathed a sigh of relief as we could see the Eiffel tower in the distance.  It would be our guide home.  Along our walk home, we crossed a bridge where we saw lanterns floating up into the sky.  Below the bridge was a wedding party lighting the lanterns and releasing them into the wind.  It was the prettiest sight to watch as the lanterns filled the night sky.  Pictures didn't do justice.  It was a sweet and romantic way to end our evening.

All in all, it was an amazing, crazy, heaven on earth, adventurous, brave night we will never forget.
